Somehow, by the guidance of blue ruled paper,
small packs of words bear up all the weight
a voice won’t. When you wrote “sweet dreams,”
I nearly felt you lie down beside me.
I'm back to writing a poem every day, whether they stink or not.

You don't write short poems very often--but you should! This one hit me hard, and I think the length is one reason why. Beautiful.
